Hellstrip to Habitat revives a series of planter strips along 63rd Street in South Berkeley, turning them into beautiful, low maintenance plantings that provide habitat for birds and beneficial insects. Replacing the strips with California natives, succulents, and low maintenance flowering plants, the new plantings are accompanied by small, educational signage.
